Application FAQ For Solar Cable

1. Damage to the cable insulation
The characteristics of photovoltaic cables are determined by the unique insulating materials and sheathing materials for cables. After being irradiated by a radiation accelerator, the molecular structure of the cable material will change, thereby providing its performance in all aspects. However, cables need to be routed on the sharp edges of the roof structure during installation and maintenance, while the cables are subject to bending, cross-stretching, and substantial impacts. For example, suppose the cable jacket is not strong enough. In that case, the cable insulation will be severely damaged, affecting the service life of the entire cable or causing problems such as short circuits, fire, and personal injury hazards.
Causes of insulation damage:
1. The quality of the cable is poor, and there are impurities inside the primary insulation

2. The quality of cable accessories is not good enough

3. The cable production process is not strictly controlled, and the method is wrong

4. The cable production environment is not good, resulting in impurities in the cable insulation layer

5. When the cable is installed, the installation personnel are not skilled and inexperienced

2. Overloading of photovoltaic cables
The long-term overload operation of the cable will cause the temperature of the cable insulation material to increase or exceed the maximum temperature standard of the cable, which is likely to cause the cable insulator to age.

3. Improper selection of cable conductor materials
There is a national standard for the conductor material and insulation resistance of the cable, the average thickness of the sheath, the outer diameter, and the conductor resistance. To the shortcomings, there are significant security risks.

4.The external flame temperature of the cable is too high.
The cable catches fire due to excessive temperature outside the cable. The heat resistance of the cable is unqualified and cannot meet the operating temperature requirements of 90°C, not to mention the allowable short circuit of 250°C, which in turn leads to significantly reduced electrical performance. Therefore, it can be seen that the selection of high-quality cables is essential for photovoltaic power plants.
